"The City That Works!": The city of Stamford is conveniently located about 25 miles northeast of "The Big Apple" - New York City, 40 miles to the southwest of New Haven, as well as about 90 miles south of Connecticut's capitol; Hartford.

Stamford is the location of the North American headquarters for many large companies including about four Fortune 500 Companies and nine Fortune 1000 Companies. In the New York Metro (outside of New York City itself), Stamford has the largest financial district, and perhaps one of the largest concentrations of corporations. So when the city made Stamford's motto "The City That Works", they were not exaggerating!

For the months June through October, Stamford has a fabulous farmer's market, offering the freshest fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked goods and more! Stamford also hosts a parade in the fall. This is one of the largest helium balloon parades in the country, and features lots of giant balloon characters that are sure to make the whole family smile!
